Typical tasks and responsibilities
- Locating enemies by gathering intelligence through patrol and surveillance
- Engaging in close combat
- Seizing and holding ground from enemy forces
- Participating in offensive operations, like setting up ambushes or destroying enemy supplies
- Participating in defensive operations, like patrolling an area to prevent the enemy from entering
- Utilising the latest military technology like night vision, thermal imagery and nano drones
- Providing security to other Army units on the Battlefield
- Conducting humanitarian assistance missions to provide aid to communities affected by conflict or natural disasters
- Deploying on training exercises, international engagement activities and operations in Australia and overseas
- Maintaining a high level of readiness, physical fitness and mental resilience
